The Tulsa Police Child Crisis Unit investigates more than 1,100 cases each year, investigating cases including Child Sexual Abuse for 13 and Under, Child Physical Abuse, and Child Deaths. Housed within the Child Advocacy Network (CAN), the unit is made up of one Lieutenant and six Detectives. The partnership between the Child Crisis Unit and CAN helps provide the best outcomes possible to victims. We spoke with Lt. Pierce and Det. Sallee about their experiences working in the unit. #TulsaPolice

We'd like to give a special introduction to our newest K-9, Ripley! K-9 Ripley is an Electronic Detection K-9 who works with the Tulsa Police Sexual Predator Investigations/Digital Evidence Recovery Unit (SPIDER). Trained by the Secret Service, K-9 Ripley specializes in electronic storage detection. She is trained to scent out chemicals used in the manufacturing of electronic storage devices. What's the mean? K-9 Ripley can sniff out the smallest devices, from USB drives to micro SD cards!

AUTO THEFTS DOWN 55% SINCE 2021 The Tulsa Police Auto Theft Unit has been working diligently and continues to put forth tremendous effort to reduce the number of auto thefts in the Tulsa area. AUTO THEFTS BY YEAR: 2024 Auto Thefts: 1,730 2023 Auto Thefts: 2,034 2022 Auto Thefts: 2,711 2021 Auto Thefts: 3,923 The unit has also seen a major reduction in the total number of auto theft related cases, including auto thefts, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempted auto thefts, chop shops, and other related cases. Unit Feature – Motorcycles There are 9 Officers and 1 Supervisor that make up the Motorcycle Unit. Even though it’s a small part of the Police Department, It's one of the more well-known units. These two-wheeled Officers are most often visible throughout Tulsa leading parades, taking part in public education, and working speed enforcement. Here's an overview of the training, dedication, and work that goes into being an Officer with the Tulsa Police Motorcycle Unit. We want to give a shout out to the longest-running member, Officer Larry Woods, who has worked in the Motorcycle Unit for 23 years! #TulsaPolice

Suspects on the run in Tulsa hate to see these K9s coming! But there's a lot more to the Tulsa Police K-9 Unit than just catching suspects. Established in 1962, the unit started with two Officers. Today, the unit has 11 dual-purpose K9s that are patrol and narcotics certified. The unit also has 11 Officers, a Lieutenant, and a Sergeant overseeing operations. From building searches, area searches, tracking, narcotics detection, and more -- the K9s are an integral part of our department. 100% Solve Rate for Homicides in 2024 Last year, the Tulsa Police Department investigated 50 Homicides in the city of Tulsa. The Homicide Unit ended the year with a solve rate of 100%. For several years, we have consistently had one of the highest homicide solve rates in the country, averaging in the 90th percentile or better. The Homicide Unit attributes its success to community support, new technology, and the hard work of Detectives and Patrol Officers. We spent a little time with Homicide Lt.
